GERMAN VESSELS RELEASED.

A Government proclamation reduce* the price of gas from 3s lOd to 3s 6d per thousand feet.
COMMODITIES' COMMISSION.
The Commodities Commission report states that immediately war. was declared the wholesale grocers raised the prices of imported commodities to 21 and in one case by a hundred per centum. , The Commission disclaims intention to interfere with the routine sales of perishable products so long as there is no attempt to corner the market. 'SEIZURE OF WHEAT BY THE GOVERNMENT.
Sydney, September 17
A deputation of millers advised Mr Hall that they were unable to purchase wheat at the price fixed, and the Executive Council issued a proclamation authorising the seizure of 140,000 bags lying at Darling Harbour in order to supply the millers at the standard price.
