THREE OF THE RESOLUTIONS.
The Council of the New Zealand Educational Institute to-day discussed the followixg motion—“ That the Institnto urges most strongly upon' the Minister that there should • not be more than five, but preferably only four/ education districts.” The motion was carried. It was also decided to urge that In urban areas, as well as in hr ban districts, members of the education board be elected on a municipal franchise, and that as early as possible some wider w frtfli6hh;fe‘tliari is at present in force should be introduced in rural areas. A further resolution was passed requesting the Minister to make provision (in addition to members already, designated) to have one member: of the board elected by the certificated teachers within the district.
