SICK AND INEFFICIENT.
[Pub Press Association.] Blenheim, July 28
The foundation stone of the new hospital, being erected at a cost of £17,481, was laid this afternoon, the Hon. R. Heaton Rhodes, in the presence of a large gathering, performing the ceremony. In the course of his speech, the Minister said that very few people realised the loss to a country on account of its sick and inefficients, and even in this young country the Government and the hospital boards alike would be signally lacking in their duty did they not face their responsibilities in this respect. The tremendously increasing expenditure in this direction' must be courageously faced.
