The old T)arlinghurst Jail has been opened to the public view. Thousands of visitors daily display great morbidity in securing mementos of the gallows and condemned cells, and there is such a rush, especially of women, to stand on the gallows trapdoor, that the officials have been compelled to warn them for fear of collapsing.
