[Phh Peeßß Association.! A hoy named William Dunn had a very narrow escape from death on Thursday afternoon (says the Auckland Herald). He had been playing in Frances street, Grey Lynn, wheie ],o resides, and, in trying to recover a lost ball, fell head downwards into n drain, from which he had moved the grating. As his head and shoulders were in about two feet of water, he would have been drowned had it not been for the assistance of Mrs McNight. Seeing two feet protruding from the drain, she hastened in. the spot and pulled the unenn winn... boy Irom his dangerous position !V<. passersby helped to apply artihend means of inspiration, with thi result that tin* boy soon racovwed, and, was able to return horn#.
