THE KING'S BIRTHDAY.
TO-MORROW'S HOLIDAY. A close general holiday will bo observed in Stratford to-morrow, the King's Birthday. In the morning the local detachments of mounted and infantry .territorials will parade at the Town Hall about 9 o'clock, where trie flag will be saluted. The proceedings will bo brief, to enatJTe Territorials to have the. fullest possible benefit of the holiday. In the afternoon a football match will bo played between the Stratford first juniors and the New Plymouth High School team.
Some residents of Stratford will, no doubt, find their way to the rifle shooting tournament at Eltham. In the evening the Stratford branch of the Taranaki Provincial Scottish Society will bold their annual concert and social in the Town Hall, and an excellent programme has been arranged. The day's proceedings will also include meetings of County ratepayers afc Kaliouri Bridge, Toko, and Toko 1 "Rnp.fl- vot, of course, | 0 celebrate 1 the holiday.
