One clung to the lectern, whence she addressed the congregation until carried out. A number of suffragettes disturbed the service at the Birmingham Cathedral. (Received 8.33 a.m.) London, June 1. Wargrove Church, near Henley, which was built in 1538; was burned. A quantity of suffragette cards was found inscribed : "A reply to the Government!" and "A reply to the torturers!" Riverside Mansion, near Windsor, was also set on fire, but the outbreak was extinguished. SCENE IN BELFAST. SUFFRAGETTE STRIPPED AND SPANKED. On the occasion of Sir Edward Carson's arrival at Belfast, mill girls mobbed several suffragettes. They stripped one of nearly all her clothing and spanked her with her own shoes, and stoned the policemen who came to the rescue.
