Clifton !•"), High School 9, played at New Plymouth. In the game Stratford v. Star, the first spell ended three all, Rogers scoring for Stratford. Just before notime Kennedy scored again for Stratford, Collins converting. TARANAKI RUGBY UNION. A meeting of the Managoment Committee of the Taranaki Rugby Fnion was held at Stratford last night, when there were present: Messrs Jas. McLeod (chairman), A. L. Humphries, F. .Moore, J. S. McKay, A. Lee, J. Garcia. R. Masters (treasurer), and P. Skoglund (secretary). RE-iNSTATEMENTS. The following re-instatements were confirmed:— Senior to Junior.—P. Leydon, H. Barlow (Waimate), G. Oliver, H. No further re-instatements will ho granted unless the rule is complied with re sending application to the secretary. Telegrams will not he accepted. SCHOOL FOOTBALL. Mr A. Lee reported that a good meeting of South Taranaki school teachers had been held, at which South Taranaki bad been divided into'hall a dozen districts, each comprising three or four schools. Matches will be arranged to conclude before the end of July. A shield will he presented for com-: petition. If possible, a match will be arranged between the winning schools of the northern and southern divisions, as a curtain-raiser to a rep. match!;. A vote of thanks was accorded the delegates, who had arranged the competition. , EASTERN SUB-JJNION. Messrs Fearon and Ha'rkness waited on the union on behalf ft the Stratford Football Club, and stated that the proposed boundaries of the Eastern Districts Sub-Union would very much curtail thefr'territory, as the bbiYttdarv came within three miles of the borough. They also stated that it might inlso inflict a hardship on them, inasmuch as several of their present players now resided in that district and were desirous of playing for Stratford, -'■•' ■.' •■
The Eastern Districts Sub-Union forwarded a letter applying for affiliation to the Tarsinai Rugby Union. The ; request was granted, subject to payment of a ice of £1 Is, and-also subject , to any playeY 'wishing to play for the Stratford Club being allowed to do so. REPRESENTATIVE MATCHES. It wsis decided to offer Wairoa SubUnion £2O towards the expenses of their trip to New Plymouth during Winter Show week. # match against Manawatu will be played in Taranaki' on July 23. Auckland wrote offering to play Taranaki a special match lor the Rstnfurly Shield on August 6.—lt was resolved to adhere to the date arranged in Wellington, viz., September 17. Taranaki will journey to Auckland on August 22. July 2o will be suggested to Auckland as the/ date for the Taranaki "B" team's visit to Auckland. Watiganui forwarded two mimes as referees in the Wanganui-Taranaki fixture next week, and it was resolved to accept Rev. W. P. Scott. Mr A. Lees was appointed manager of the team to YVanganui.
Mr J. Goodwill and the secretary of the Haweva Club wore appointed to make arrangements re the visit of Wellington to Hawera. THE KASPAR CUP. Opunake Club wrote complaining that the Kaspar Cup competition interfered with their senior and junior teams. Two of their seniors were now pla.ving Tor Rahotu, and several of their juniors for Pihamn. The position now was that Opunake only had the town to pick from. They asked, it local competition Cell through, would they he debarred from pla.ving any of the players who had taken part in it. nake Club that the union had no cognisance of the competition, and that any player in the district was eligible to' play for the Opunake team. OPUXAKE.IUXIOBS. Opunake will be informed that there will be no objection to the OkaiawaOpuuako junior match being played, provided Okaiawa is agreeable, and a suitable date Cftn be arranged.
