Huerta’s Resignation.

Huerta has authorised his peace delegates to submit his resignation to the conference if such a course is found essential to the settlement of peace negotiations. It is understood to be likely that the whole scope of the negotiations will lie widened in order to include the host means of pacifying Mexico. AN ANGRY MEXICAN MOB. THREATEN BRITISH STEAMER. Ninety American refugees escaped aboard the Cetriana, a British steamer, while an angry Mexican mob at Manzanillo threatened to board the vessel and sink her. The wharf was actually' undermined and dynamite placed beneath it. A Mexican steamer laden with inflammables cast anchor ten feet from the Cetriana.
Lieutenant Munister, of the British Naval Reserve, manoeuvred the Cetriana out of danger. The American warship Raleigh arrived as the Cetriana was leaving. The Mexicans despatched a steamer with the apparent intention of ramming the Cetriana, hut a rifle fusilade permitted the Cetriana to g clear. MEXICAN ACTIVITY. 1 RAILWAY BRIDGE BLOWN UP. • Washington, May 18. General Funston reports that the Mexicans have blown up the interoceanic railway bridge eigjht miles from Vera Cruz, spanning the Antigua river.
