THE AMERICA CUP.
The lust of the tour yachts being* built in preparation for this year's contest for the America Cup will be launched within two or three weeks. advantage of this fact. The Americans | are building throe defenders, which ( will be tested in eliminating contests | before the date of the big race. Two' of the yachts are constructed with steel frames, manganese bronze plat-j ing and steel masts, one having ai centre-board, white the third has a steel frame, wooden planking and hol-| low wooden spars. The cost of the J preparations for the race are enor-' mous, but happily the arrangements; on both sides of the Atlantic are in j the hands of millionaires.
