Mr Fisher, in moving a motion of censure, accused member? of the Government of slandering" the former Labour Government and' the people by stating that the rolls should be cleansed before the election. Referring, to, the trans-Australian railway, he declared that the Government had let one contract without calling tenders. He blam^^n^ T of6vernment for reverting to contract instead of the day labor system and abolishing preference to unionists. .. ' Mr Cook ridiculed the feebleness of the charges, but agreed to take the amendment as ,a. serious motion of censure."
