Mr Lynch asked Mr Churchill whether the Admiralty's policy constitutes a violation; of the naval agree ment of 1909; whether' the- modifications to the agreement were undertaken after submission of the proposals to the Commomvealth and wixd the concurrence of the Minister for Defence; and also whether he received Senator Millen's communication; also, whether Mr Churchill contemplates the possibility of Australia's defence depending on Japanese ships, and whether Australia's attitude on insisting on the 1909 agreement will produce a corresponding modification of the Admiralty's policy. The answers were postponed until Mr Churchill returns.
