A suffragette in male attire, wlio was found in the Lobby of the House of Commons was sentenced to six weeks’ imprisonment. She said her intention was to thrash Mr Asquith or Mr McKenna. ASSAULT ON MR CHURCHILL. When he was leaving Bradford, Mr Churchill was struck violently in the face by a man who escaped in the crowd.

Mr Churchill acmes the assault. His would-be assailant was seized and prevented.

Their Majesties the King and Queen attended a charity matinee at the Palladium. A suffragette shouted a protest against the imprisonment of Mrs Pankhnrst, and the police turned her out. Then other suffragettes in the gallery showered down literature, and were ejected. The newspapers are publishing' urgent appeals for more drastic punishment, including deportation.
