LIVINGSTONE IN THE LIME-

Livingstone, on© of the deporteds, was summoned for drunkenness, and failed to appear. The other eight deporteds ■ now disown Livingstone, and state he is no Labor leader but merely a member of the General Workers’ Union. Livingstone will not participate in the coming tour. , Labor organisations are considering a proposal to- send ■Mr Ramsay MacDonald, M.P., as an envoy to Messrs Botha and Smuts on behalf of the deporteds. Mr MacDonald is anxious to go, but is doubtful whether his parliamentary duties will allow himThe strike suggestion is now in disfavor.
