A meeting of citizens, at which Lords Denham and Sanley were
present, was held to initiate a movement to erect a Shakespeare memorial theatre in [Melbourne to mark the tercentenary of the poet’s death in 191(3. The memorial is estimated to cost £.‘10,000.
