Internal hemorrhage was the cause. The mare cost 2100 guineas. THE WOODVILLE MEETING, [Per Press Association. 1 Woodville, February 18. The Autumn Meeting of the Woodville .Jockey Club commenced to-day in glorious weather. There is a large attendance. Considering tin terrible state of the grounds after the December meeting, everything is looking splendid, and the course is in good going order. Results: — Maiden.—Lubriline 1, Orleans 2 Rangiwhetu 3., Scratched : Combustion, Tiora, Ranfurly. Won by hall a length. Time, Imin 6 3-ssec. Hack Hurdles.—Composed 1, Papa jitz 2, Stockade 3. Higliden war scratched. Won by a head, the third horse three lengths away. Time. 3min 24 l-ssec. Wharite Hack.—Chassis 1, Te Honhou 2, Borsil 3. Orleans was scratched. Won comfortably by half a length. Time Imin 30 3-sscc. The Cup.—Kooya 1, Imemr 2 Triede 3. Se + l!er ivas scratched Won by half a Icmgth. Time, 2min 8 l-osec. * \ DUNEDIN RACES. x Dunedin, February 18. The Cup meeting opened in glorious weather, and the attendance pro raises to he a record. The Winga tni course is in good order.
