The third wool sale, consisting principally of wools from the high country, commenced this morning, when competition was keener than at the last sale. Bradford buyers competed closely for all soi'ts and the local mills were eager for super lots of merino and half-hreds. The total number of hales offered was 14,015, as against 7261 fop the corresponding sale of last year. In the first two sales it was evident that strong wools were about )d per lh better than at the last sale, while fine wools were about the same. The New Zealand Loan and Mercanilo Agency Co. sold 23 hales of super merino on behalf of Kain Bros. (Beaumont) at 14]d per Hi, which is a New Zealandrecord for the season.
