I [Per Press Association.] j Auckland, February 11, I Speaking on Naval Defence art 11 Aroha, Mr Massey (Prime Minister said the Government had asked thl Home authorities to comply with thj 1909 agreement. They had said thaj if this were done, and if within eight! pen months they would give us tw| Bristol type of cruisers. New Zed land would pay another £50,000 i year. So far, there had been no re ply, but the matter could not be al lowed to rest, and if something wen not done it would he the duty of tin Government to ask Parliament foj authority to build at least one cruise] in the British shipyards. Mr Massey said he believed tin Pacific would be the storm-centre ■ it the future, where the British peoph would have to fight for their snpre macy of these waters.
