RUFFLED PLUMES.
[To Thf Editor Stratford Post.] Sir, — I would be pleased if you could find space in your valuable paper to publish my letter in fu1 1 which 1 wrote to the Borough Council re .Flint Road, as, according L your report, the Mayor seems to ge his feathers ruffled over same; am you say the Mayor took strong ex ception to the tone of the letter, which, ho said, was not an improve merit on a previous communication I will leave'the ratepayers to judg; whether there is anything in my Ic ;er to ruffle His Worship’s feathers,— I am, etc., PETER HANCOCK.
(Copy.) The Mayqr and Borough Council ors. ■
Dear Sirs,—ln looking over a few totes I keep (or reference, 1 find for :ho last eighteen months, to my knowedge, and before that to a time forgotten by ratepayers, the Council has inly spent the sum of £lO or thereibouts, £4 on manual labor, and £6 vith steam roller. Now, as 1 have raid rates to that amount in less than ;wo years, 1 would like to know what las become of the rates accruing rom road as it must be at least ten imes as much as spent. It may be hat Council has gone in for retrenelinent and dispensed with services of heir staff. If not, it might be as well; o inform them where Flint Road ‘last is, as they must have forgotten die locality. There is one thing, the •ate cards find it all right. Twelve nonths since anything was done, and t is a disgrace to any local body or o anyone having charge of it.—Yours. Ac., (Signed) PETER HANCOCK.
