DETAINING A POSTAL PACKET. [Per Peess 'Association.] . Dannevirke, February. 5. Reginald Stanley Herbert was committed to the Supremo Court for sentence to-day on a charge of detaining a postal packet which should have been delivered to another person. Mr Herbert, a settler at Pongaroa, sent for five Tattersall tickets. On receiving the letter he found one ticket missing. This ticket contained a winning number, a. prize of £IOO, and was in the name of his daughter. Rose Alma Herbert. Accused sent a friend to the post office for his letters, and received one containing the tickets, and endeavored to obtain the £IOO prize.
