AN UPSIDE-DOWN DINNER.
AIRMEN BANQUET HICKS. [By Electric Telegraph—Coptbight] [Untied Press Association. I (Received 8.0 a.m.) London, January 15. Airmen are banqueting Aviator Hicks to-morrow at an "upside down" dinner.
The meal will he served reversely, commencing with the coffee, and finishing with the hors d'oeuvres. The menu contains aspern reverseurs, and' looping lobsters. The menus read from right to left, while the table has four extra legs pointing upwards.

Roger De Pagniat estimates that in 1900, out of five aviators who flew a thousand miles there was one death. In 1909, 50 airmen flew
27,500 miles, with three deaths; in 1910 500 airmen flew 600,000 miles with 29 deaths; in 1911 4500 airmen flew 2,312,000 miles with 78 deaths; in 1912 5800 airmen fled 12,500,000 miles with 140 deaths.
