CRICKET. NEW ZEALANDERS ON TOUR. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] Sydney, December 23. The Sydney Daily Telegraph says that the New Zealand ciicketers started north believing that they would win a couple of country matches and then take a big beating from Queensland. In accomplishing the unexpected they beat the northern State in a fashion which stamps the visitors as cricketers with the hall-mark of fighters in a tight situation. Considering the state of the wicket, the fact that six of the batsmen scored double figures says a good deal for he grittiness of the tight put up. The paper adds that the success of Sandman as a goog]y expert is causing New South Wales enthusiasts to look forward to the team’s match in Sydney with a great deal of interest. R. J. A. Massie will he tumble to play in the New South Wales team against New Zealand.
