CHRISTMAS AND NEW YEAR HOLIDAYS.

POST AND TELEGRAPH' DEPARTMENT. Postal Branch.— Thursday, December 25 and January 1 (Christmas Day and New Year’s Diry) wilt be observed as close holidays. On Friday, December 26fcli (Dbxiilg Day), the Post Office will be open in all its branches, except money orders and savings bank from 9 a.m, to 10 a.m.

Telegraph Office.—The telegraph office will be open on, Thursday, the 25th iust (Christmas Day) from 9.30 a.m. to 10 a.rn. and froin 5 p.m. to 5.30 p.m. On Friday (Doting Day) and Thursday (New Year’s Day), the hours will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m, and from 7 p.m. >tb 8 p.m.

Telephone Exchange Will be open as usual except on Christmas Day, when Sunday hours will be observed (9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.).

Mails.—Mails usually despatched on Thursdays will be closed Wednesday nights 24th and 3lst inst., at & p.m. bn 26th (Boxing Day). The usufil despatch of mails up to 8 a.in. will be made. The receivers and posting boxes will be cleared accordingly. Counter Delivery.—Deliveries of letters (including registered) will be made on tbe Wednesday nights, the 24th and 31st inst., from 7 o’clock to 8 o’clock.

Letter Carriers’ Deliveries.—Che complete delivery by letter carriers will made on the 26th inst. (There will be none on either Christmas Day or New Year’s Day). WIRELESS GREETINGS. By special arrangements Nnias and NeW Year’a wireless . greetings telegrams will be exchanged between New Zealand and the Commonwealth. The text of tile*. Christtritts greetings telegrams must consist of not more, than four words to read “Compliments of Season,” or “Christmas'Greetings”
