THE FIGHTING CARSON.

Sir Edward Carson, speaking at Sheffield, said that Mr Asquith’s speech at Leeds had left the men of Ulster with n ohope except themselves. *Air Asquith lias declaied war,” he added, “and we are driven to accept the declaration.”
I PLEA FOR A CONFERENCE. London, December 2. ; Lord Haldane, speaking at Birmingham, denied that the Prime Minister had hardened his tone'at Leeds-with regard to the Irish situation. He pleaded for a private conference to consider Home Rule.
