THE WOOL TRADE. [By Electric Telegraph—Coptrioht] [United Press Association.] (Received 8.30 a.m.) Washington, December 2. | Raw wool, under the new Tariff Act, ■is now free listed. 1c is estimated that a million dollars' worth of raw wool is bonded in .New York alone j awaiting the removal of duty. Philadelphia wool manufacturers will withdraw eight million pounds worth of wool in bond under the new tariff. It is largely the New Zealand product.
MR HUCHES RECOMMENDS. Sydney, December 2.--Mr W. M. Hughes, on behalf of the conference of unionists, in issuing a reply to the Wellington Employers' Defence Committee, recommended that the whole affair lie referred to Sir Joshua Williams "or any other acceptable arbitrator, whose decision would ho final on all points, including the employment of labor. at new plymau —? —? —? __? ? The membership of the Arbitration Union of Xew Plymouth waterside workers now stands at 60. A number of the men who went to Wellington a short time ago hare returned, and will again he taking up work on the wharf at Moturoa.
