Ail inquest was opened to-day on the body of the child found under u house at Eastbourne a few days ago.
.Mrs Myall, of Christchurch, said hothouse was licensed as a home tor children. On 16th January she received into her home a female child about five months old. named Thelma May Davis. The child was taken away by the mother on JUth September. \\ ituess visited the Morgue last week, and identified certain articles of clothing she had put on the child. In witness’ opinion the child was a half-caste Chinese. Witness could not identify the body as that of Thelma May Davis, although she was of opinion it was. Another witness gave evidence as to finding the body under a cottage at Rona Bay. The inquest was adjourned..
