MEXICAN MINE TRAGEDY.
HOPE ABANDONED. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] New York, October 24. Hope has been abandoned for the two hundred miners entombed in the , Mexico mine. Fire is raging in the ' workings, and the rescuers are helpless. ■ i RESCUE WORK PROCEEDING. (.Received 11.40 afn/) J\ T ew York, October 24. Two rescuers at Dawson, New Mexico, were killed by the collapse of the roof of the mine and two others barely escaped with their lives.' Black damp is barring ingress to the mine. The attempt to recover the bodies is still proceeding, but progress is slow. Several of the rescued declare that the explosion by which the mine was .wrecked, seemed like a volcano eruption.
