LEVEL CROSSES'G FATALITY. [Per Press /Association.] Daimevirko, September 2G. A fatal accident occurred at the Rawhiti street crossing this morning. When the second train from Palmers' ton North was approaching Dannevirke, J. Brown, a milkman on the Laws Rond, who was returning home, allegedly attempted to cross in front of the train. The horse swerved, and the engine struck the cart, throwing Brown about thirty yards, while the engine carried him some distance before it was pulled up. Brown died on the way to the hospital from a fracture of the skull. The horse was also killed, and the trap was smashed to matchwood. Deceased had traversed the road daily for years.
