WIN FOR EDUCATION BOARD. [Pes Press Association. | Auckland, September 24. Judge Cooper gave his decision id favor of the Board of Education against the School Committee's appeal, holding that the present method of appointing teachers was in ac cordance with the Education Act. WELLINGTON COURT CASES. Wellington, September 24. Robert Murray, who was described as a man with an ungovernable temper, was sentenced to six weeks' imprisonment for assaulting another man by biting his finger and stabbing him in the face with a fork. The charge against Samuel Minifie of attempting to murder his wife by shooting her in the street was partially heard and adjourned till Wed-, nesday. The parties had.been separated some time. When Minifie met bis wife in the street she refused his advances, and it is alleged, he then drew a'revolver and shot her in the arm. She has been in the hospital for seven weeks. * '• "-'••■'
