A very successful aeroplane flight over the desert of Sahara was recent ly made by four Farrnan biplanes mounted by French army pilots. Wlm is noteworthy is that the trip, covering about 500 miles distance was much above the desert region whore an; kind of aid is impossible. Starting out from the military aeroplane pord which was recenly established a Biskra on the edge of the desert ant in the Algerian region,’the party pro ceeded with the object of making th flight of Touggourt,, a military sta tion lying' in one of the oases, ant this was done very easily by the whoh party. Then the return trip wa made without any. incidents, clearly showing the value of the aeroplane in making communication over desert country. As the French army possess es a number.of military posts in tin regions of Algeria and Morocco, tin aeroplane is certain to be of grea - ' value in the future in making a tapis connection.
