A lady in an article in the Daily News, headed “Our Imperilled Homes,” in which the writer complains of Australia attracting domestics, says; If a mistress calls her maid “Mary” and the maid addresses the mistress as “Martha,” there are no social distinctions; she lives as one cf the family, eats at the same table,and can easily save 10s weekly. Therefore. it is certain, she will marry quickly.
