Word was received in Stratford to-

day to tho effect that Roberts had decided to play in to-morrow’s football match.

Prince Ernest of Cumberland and his wife will attend Prince Arthur’s marriage. Prince Henry will represent the Kaiser, states a Berlin cablegram .

The annual concert of the Stanley Road School will he held on September 12. Dance and euchre party to follow.

At the inquest at Gisborne on the hoy, Edward Evans, who was shot on Sunday last by a companion, the jury returned a verdict that it was a pure accident. —P.A.

In connection with the visit of the Wellington schoolboys to Stratford yesterday our attention, has boon drawn to the fact that the team was selected from the Wellington High and Technical Schools and was not representative of the primary schools as was believed.

The Rev. Alfred North, general organiser of the Baptist Lnion ol New Zealand, and Rev. F. H. Radford, ait visiting Stratford to confer with loca Baptist friends in regard to the ultimate formation of a Baptist cans* here. As notified in onr advertising columns, a meeting will ho held in tin Foresters’ Hall to-morrow evening a 7.30.
