THE CASE OF McMEEKIN. Christchurch,- August 22. In tho Supremo Court, in the case of Joe Martin Chapman, charged with assaulting McMeekin and causing injuries which resulted in death, and on a second count, that, being an attendant at a mental hospital, ho assaulted a patient, Mr Stringer for tho Crown said McMeekin was about 42 He was medically examined on admission and found physically strong. Hr ** suffered from eye trouble, which mad ’ him almost blind. Mrs McMeekin gave evidence that her husband was never violent.
