M. .Maioreseo, the Roumanian Premier, lias been elected to the Presi-

dency of the Peace Conference. After the opening speech, M. Venizelos announced that lie accepted the proposal to suspend hostilities, which was agreed, for live days, after the army pxperte had been consulted. The Conference then adjourned. Constantinople, July 31.

The Russian Black Sea fleet is near the entrance to the Bosphorous, and there is much excitement.
