' Tho Goodwood Cup resulted: Cat mint 1, Aleppo 2, Lance Chest 3. Prince Palatine finished in a distressed condition. Mr Joel stipulated that there should be a reduction of 'the purchase rnoneiy to £40,000 if beaten this season, while Mr Pilking ton, the owner, stipulated that the horse would not ho exported. , (Received 10.20 a.m.)
Prince Palatine was regarded as r certain winner, and carried a lot o 1 money, but cracked tip and made no show. Ho was groggy when pulled up. Ho is reported to have hit himself during tho race.
■ Catmint’s victory was duo tr Maher’s clever riding.
