NORTH ISLAND TEAM

The Taranaki members of the North Island team, Stohr, Dewar, Roberts and Cain left by the mail train ths morning en route to Christchurch. O’Leary, Sellars, and McGregor (Auckland), and Ramsden (Wellington) are unable to go to Christchurch, and yesterday Mackenzie, Loveridge- Evenson and Tresize were chosen in their stead. Kinvig has also been chosen as emergency back. Owing to the short notice Loveridge is unable to get leave from the Telegraph Department, and is not likely to go. Stohr is suffering the full effects of his recent vaccination, and if no letter by * Saturday, 'lt is doubtful if he will be able to play. Mr J. F. Tho manager of the Taranaki League team has been informed that tho lease of the Hawera Show Ground for the Taranaki-New South Wales game has been cancelled. The match will now be played either at Eltham or New Plymouth.
