NE W ARRIVAL'S, .suicide. [Puft ; Passs Association.] ' Palmerston ,N„. July 21. Richard 'Hovvlin Gidley, 40 years of age, recently from Devonshire, England, committed suicide at Palmerston North in tlioj Family Hotel. He shot him soli in the mouth; with a revolver. Papers on the deceased indicated that lie recently arrived from Home. He iiad realised on some property there, but had no rqpnsy yrhen found dead. He had' a wife and.-two children in England. An inquest was .held to-day on William Armstrong (38),/: married, who died in the hospital , last night from the effect of wounds in ,the abdomen caused by a wire strainer slipping while ho was engaged in fencing work at Hihitahi on Thursday. A verdict of “accidental death” was returned.
