Tho report that Mrs Pankhurst was re-arrested is incorrect. A dramatic effort to secure her escape from her flat was made. A decoy dressed like Mrs Pankhurst left the house, and the police on guard, who were followed and hindered by fifty Suffragettes, caught tho woman, but they found they had been tricked. It is not known whether Mrs Pankhurst escaped during the diversion.

Detectives, hearing of her presence, barred the exits and arrested her as she was going on the platform. An uproar followed.
