NEW ZEALAND LOAN AND MERCANTILE GO'S. REPORT.

The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., Stratford Branch, report as follows:

On Tuesday, 15th inst., we held outfortnightly sale in our Stratford yards, when we had a yarding of 213 cattle and 90 lambs. Bidding was good on all young stock, excepting in calf heifers, some very nice quality heifers being passed. Prices realised were a: follows: —Weaner steers 25s for poor cattle up to 42s for well grown Shorthorns, weaner heifers, showing little colour, realised 44s to 62s for a nice line of exceptionally well grown heifers, yarded by a Ngaere client. A line of 50 mixed weaners, off turnips, realised 495, to a Tarata client, 20 months steers 58s to 67s 6d, empty heifers 58s to 80s, 2 year steers 80s to 85s, 2 year old in calf heifers, all well in to the Jersey and Holstein cross 107 s to 115 s, store cows 45s to 82s. In the dairy pens we offered a dairy herd on account of Mr H. G. Freeling, Waipuku. The majority of the cows were not in good condition, were mostly dehorned, and looked aged. Prices were as follows:—B2s 6d to 110 s for backward cows, well forward and better conditioned cows 135 s to 180 s. We also sold on account of sundry clients stock as follows :—Cows in milk 150 s to 162 s 6d, cows close to profit 140 s to 160 s, Jersey heifers close to calving 140 s to 190 s.

During the past week we have disposed of a good deal of stock privately at the following prices:—ln calf heifers 100 s to 1355, mixed weaners 35s to 455, weaner steers of well grown Shorthorn quality 44s and 45s to 47s 6d, 20 month empty heifers 65s to 70s, 2-tooth ewes 14s 6d to 15s, 2tooth wethers 14s 6d to 16s lambs 10s 6d up to 12s. T. I. LAMASON'S REPORT. Last Saturday I held my usual weekly sale with a good attendance of the public, and also a fair entry of various lines for sale. 1 quote as follows :—Hens Is 3d to 2s 3d, geese 2s 6d to 3s, roosters Is 2d to 2s, ducks Is 9d to 2s, cauliflowers 2s 3d to 3s per dozen, cabbage Is 6d to 2s 6d per dozen, carrots 3s per sack, parsnips Is 6d to Is 9d per bag, furniture and sundries at usual auction prices.
