SUICIDE OF A SEAMAN

Wanganui, July 11
A verdict of suicide Willie temporarily insane was returned at the inquest upon the body of a eeainan named Woods, who hanged himself at ilaorikia.
A WHARF LABORER'S DEATH
Wanganui, July 11
An inquest was held to-day on the deatn of Ambrose Jack O'Connor, a wharf laborer. The following verdict was returned by the Coroner:— •'J find from the evidence given at the inquest that the deceased, on the lOtli inst., at the wharf at Wanganui, while helping in the work of unloading the Rimu, received such injuries as proved fatal, deceased having died therefrom an iiour after removal to £lie Hospital. 1 also tind tiiat tne injuries sustained by deceased resulted, so tar as appears from the evidence adduced, from an accident at the wincli while the cargo was being removed from the hold of the vessel."
Christchurch, July 11
Thomas Crompton, was I'oiJid this afternoon "in his office at J 10 Hereford street, lying Uncohsciona on the. floor| He was attended Dy Dr. Orchard, who found that the gas had been turned on in an unlighxed gas stove in a room where Crompton was, lying. He is expected to recover.
