The National Executive of the Labour Party deny having issued a manifesto in connection with the Leicester election. , ' Mr Masterman, in a speech at Leicester, declared that it was technically v inaccurate to say that the executive had issued a manifesto, hut the Parliamentary, Labour Party’s committee had decided to condemn Mi Hartley’s candidature. Mr Snowden, Labour M.P. f°i Blackburn, writing to the Labour Leader, said that if the Party endorsed the Labour candidcature for Leicester , it would jeopardise their seats. There were four rifts at present in the ranks of the labourites, who were elected by the goodwill of the Liberals. The Labqur, Leader states that the decision not to fight the seat was a grave mistake. .
