Francis Thomas Jones, a young man, resenting the action of a barmaid in a city hotel last night in refusing to serve his companion with drink, abused her in filthy language. The barmaid threw a glass of water at him. He retaliated by throwing a jug at her, and she was badly cut on the face and stunned. Jones was before the Court to-day and sentenced to two months’ imprisonment.
