IX THE AWFUL SILENCE. THE SHORTAGE OF STORES. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] [United Press Association.] (Received 9.45 a.m.) London, April 18. Lieutenant Bruce, Lady Scott’s brother, says Captain Scott lived two days after his companions. He adds : “The shortage of stores in the depots concerned the oil fuel, which evaporated owing to the deterioration of the rubber washers through extreme cold.”
