ASPHYXIATING REVOLVERS. London, March 25. The police have successfuly demonstrated the value of asphyxiating revolvers. A lunatic barricaded a house and kept his captors at bay. The police fired an asphyxiating cartridge into the window and rendered the lunatic unconscious. A CO-OPERATIVE • POLICY. London, March 5. A conference of the Amalgamated Union of Co-operative Societies at Leeds adopted a national policy to secure a living wage, an eight hours’ day, adequate staffs and regulations for boy labor. The speakers advocated a strike, if necessary, to secure the policy.
