MAHOE SCHOOL.
ANNUAL CONCERT. , The annual concert of the Mahoo school was held last evening, when there was a very big attendance of the children, parents, and friends. The prizes were distributed by Mr Robert Masters, a member of the Taranaki Education Board, who shortly addressed those present, and congratulated the pupils and their teacher upon the success achieved, as well as expressing his pleasure at being there that evening. The first part of the evening was devoted tc i,ems- by children, these being creditably rendered. Then followed the prize-giving, and afterwards items by adults, followed by a tasty supper pi’ovided by the ladies, and lastly an enjoyable dance. The programme was as follows: — Pianoforte solo, Hilda Bennett; school song,“Don’t go down into the mine, dad”; recitation, “The Twins,” Trevor Davies; dialogue, “Nursery Rhymes,” infants; recitation, “When the wheat turns brown,” Miss Evans; i song, “Where do all the daisies goP” infants ;Fan Song, elder girls; dialogue, “An American Sam Weller” ; recitation, “Two boys at School,” Willie Davies; song, “Grandmother sits in her easy chair”; club drill, Miss Evans; school song, “Starlight”; hoop drill, elder girls. Pianoforte duet, Misses Astbury; song. Miss Cleaver; song, Mrs Sim; song, Miss Free; song, Mr Wilkie; song, Miss Coates; song, Mr Walters; recitation, Mr Rands; song. Mr Felton; duet, Mrs Bennett and Mr Symnmns; song, Mr J. B. Cumberworth; song, Mrs Sim; snug, Mr Smith; song. Miss Moon; song, Mr Wilkie; violin solo, Mr MeLellan ; song, Mr Felton.
