SASH AND DOOR FACTORY i . DAMAGED.

Fcilding, March 20. The Sash and Door Company’s factory hero was seriously damaged by lire last night. The factory was a large one, containing numerous turning machines, with stocks of dry skirting, moulding, made-up pieces, carpenters’ benches, etc. The fi.ro apparently started near the engineroom, and spread along towards the front offices, The brigade, with four leads of hose gradually drove the fire back to tho centre, and after ma'ny hours’ fighting, got it completely under control. Tho offices and adjoining rooms were saved, also a detached shed stored with timber, and other stacks of timber. A very rough estimate can lie giv.en of the damage at £2OOO. The insurances are not available.
