ANNUAL DISTRICT MEETING. The annual district meeting of the Manchester Unity of the Independent Order of Oddfellows (Taranaki district) took place to-day in the Municipal Chambers, when the following district officers and deputies were present : '' I

P.P.G.M. Bro. C, D. Sole extended a hearty welcome to the district officers and deputies to Stratford.
D.P.G. Master Bro. W. Mountford was elected to the position of Prov. Grand Master, and P.G. iftro. Melville was elected as Deputy Prov. Grand Master. The result of the first ballet was even voting between Melville and Bellringer, and in the second ballot the numbers were again even. To decide the matter the Grand Master tossed a coin, which foil in favour of Bro. Melville.
District Warden, P.P.G.M. Bro. Bra bant was re-elected.
The district granted £5 to the Tl Kiri Lodge in order to enable thorp to purchase new books which had recently been destroyed by fire. The corresponding secretary, P.P. G.M. Bro. C, E. Bellringer, of the Taranaki District, was voted a bonus of £2O for good services rendered to the district.
The delegates adjourned at 12.20 to Mrs Baton’s rooms as the guests for luncheon of the loyal brethren. ifc. _______
