STRATFORD HORTICULTURAL SHOW.
ANNUAL SHOW. It must be very gratifying to the officers of the Stratford Horticultural Society, who have worked so hard to make this year’s show a success, to witness the splendid response which has, been made to their appeal. This evening the public of Stratford will have an opportunity of seeing a display of flowers, vegetables, cookery, etc., that is far in advance of all previous shows. A notable addition to the Society’s catalogue is the Cottage Garden Exhibit and the Farm Produce Class, in both of which classes the exhibits are very creditable indeed, being a fine tribute both to the industry of the exhibitors and the producing capacity of Stratford soil. . The dahlias make a glorious showing notably the splendid selection Of the cactus variety grown by Mr F. Davies. The thanks of the Society are due to Mrs Newton King, who very ’kindly sent down, for exhibition only, a capital display of dahlias,, among them some very fine specimens of the peony variety. To-night Supper will be provided by the ladies, at a small charge, and musical selections will bo rendered by the Stratford Orchestra. There should be a big attendance of the public.
