DR. MAWSON’S EXPEDITION.

Lord Denman has forwarded, by wireless telegraphy, to Dr. Mawson, the King’s congratulations on the success of the expedition and on establishing the first regular wifeless communication with the Antarctic; also, regretting the death of Lieutenant Ninnis and Dr. Hertz. A reply to Dr. Mawson’s request to call the new land after the King would be sent later.COMMANDER EVANS’ CONDOLENCE. (Received 10.30 a.m.) Sydney, February 28. Professor David has received a cablegram from Commander Evans, asking him to convey Ids deepest sympathy to the Australian-Antarctic expedition on the loss of Lieutenant Ninnis and Dr. Mertz. There are no details yet. WIRELESS COMMUNICATION. Hobart, February 28. Willis’s station was in touch with Macquarie station. The Mawson Dr. Mauson yesterday through the station acknowledged the messages and seemed to he working exceedingly well, though the time of working is still somewhat limited.
