I | His Honor Mr Justice Denniston I w :i i preside at next week’s sittings of | the Supremo Court in New Plymouth. I Captain Waller, the new harbourmaster, is on the way over from Sydney in the Wimmera, due at Auckland on Sunday, and will assume bis new j duties in New Plymouth early in i March. A cable from Sydney states that Professor Percival is a passenger by the Wimmera, and the Hon. Mr Bowiring, Newfoundland’s representative on the Trade Commission, is a passenger by the Maunganui. Father Bergin, of Manaia, was on Wednesday evening entertained by the parishioners of that district at a valedictory social, prior to his removal from the parish. He was also presented with an illuminated address and a purse of sovereigns. Sergeant-Major Dallinger, lately in command of No. 30 Area, with beadquarters at Stratford, has been appointed to be record clerk to Captain A. C. C. Steven, officer commanding No. 8 area group, Taranaki. Fie will also assume the duties of Q.M.S. of all I senior cadets in Taranaki, which affects nineteen companies. Sergeant-Major Dallinger has been stationed in Stratford ever since the inception of the Territorial scheme, and has a well-de-served reputation for being a capable officer, and a soldier who knows his duties. Sergeant-Major Bouar, of Inglewood, will take over Sergeant-Ma-jor Dallinger’s duties at Stratford forthwith.
